Left 4 Dead / Other stuff
May. 3rd, 2009 10:04 pmI've been playing Left 4 Dead a lot. I bought it over the weekend recently so I can play online. It's really fun, but I have a feeling it could get old eventually considering there are only 4 campaigns. Basically, you really have to rely on your team to get through the game, because most likely you'll end up getting pounced on or grabbed by a zombie. The only way to get away from that is if another team member helps out. Of course, the people you randomly end up teaming with are always different. It's interesting to see group dynamics at work. Some are really aggressive, while some people are more defensive. Your best bet of surviving is learning to work with others.
Oh, I also watched "Battle for Terra" over the weekend, which is a decently good sci-fi 3D animated film. It's fairly serious in comparison to the rest of the 3D stuff out there, and it suits my tastes better. I doubt it will appeal to the mainstream, but if you give it a chance, you might actually like it. There are some minor story things that I think could have been done better, but overall, it was good.
Other than that, things have been the same as usual. It's been getting hotter lately, and it makes me dread the coming summer.
All my friends are excited about Star Trek next week. For some reason, I'm not too excited about it, although it looks awesome from previews. I guess I'm just a bit suspicious about big blockbuster movies.
I'm a little tired of how things have to be bigger or more extravagant here in the US to get attention. It sometimes comes to the point where the movie previews are much more explosive than the movie itself.
