iPod.. to get, or not to get?
Jan. 21st, 2010 11:45 pmI was considering upgrading my defunct iPod in time for my trip to the Philippines. My old iPod's been dead for about four years now, and I've long since given up on the product. However, I think the current price for one is too expensive ($250 for the classic!!! Augh!). I would be fine with my cheap $20 eight GB mp3 player that I have, but it requires a computer to recharge and I won't have access to one in the Philippines. Another option is to use my PSP for the trip, but that thing is dying fast. My final option is to just go without an mp3 player, which will make the plane ride and trip downtime very unbearable.
Hm, I've been considering getting a new iPod for some time now, and now would be a perfect time to get one. However, the price bothers me so much. I really don't think the thing is worth all that money. It's like.. $150 for the hardware itself, and an extra $100 for the stylish looks. -_- I also don't like how you need to depend on iTunes to manage all the files. Hmm... I do have extra money saved up though... It's also a good mp3 player, and I'd still be using it way after this trip is over. It'll be a long term investment. Currently, it takes me so long to sort through songs on my $20 mp3 player that I usually don't bother to use it on short outings (when I used to walk to class or wait for the bus). I'm also not interested in the iTouch or iPhone. I just want a good mp3 player.
But... it's 250 dollars... geez. I'm leaning mostly towards the "NO" option, but I have a bad feeling that I would want to buy one eventually. I think saying "NO" is the right choice. I could spend my money in better, more efficient ways. I would just have to go without any music for the next 2 and a half weeks... and also on the obnoxiously long 13 hour plane ride there.
Well, I've given myself until tomorrow to decide. This weekend is going to be busy, so I won't have any time to get it then.
