Observatory
Oct. 4th, 2009 01:55 pmIt's an unbelievably beauitful day today. There's a nice chill in the wind that's pushed away whatever's left of the summer heat. The air is sooo crisp and clear... and the sun is nice and warm. It's a perfect day for falling asleep under a tree.
Ah, and yesteday night, I visited the Griffith Observatory with two of my friends from college. Being in the observatory reminded me again of just how much I love space and looking at stars. We were also able (after waiting in line for an hour) to look through the telescope and see the planet Jupiter. We also watched a show in the planetarium, which was breathtaking. We stayed till about 8 PM, and at that time, we could see an awesome expansive view of LA and all its city lights in the valley below.
The observatory is big tourist spot now. Because the parking was full, we had to park about 2 miles away and walk up the mountain path to get to it. There were also a lot of families with younger children, and lots and LOTS of couples snuggling up from the cold. It'll probably remain one of my favorite places to visit here in LA.
