Quick Update Tuesday Wednesday

My grandmother's 90th birthday today. We went to mass in the morning, followed by breakfast at IHOP. After that, we visited my grandfather's grave and said a short prayer for him. Following that, we went to Chinatown so my grandmother could go shopping. She bought a few clothes as I pushed her around on a wheelchair. We also bought lots of food, and had dinner and cake back at my aunt's house. I learned awhile ago to treasure these moments with people.
We also started work renovating our new house. It's a fixer-upper, so there are a lot of things we have to fix before we move in. I added lining to the shelves in my new room. Also had to clean out the spiders in the closet... (UGH!)
Wednesday
Worked on our new house all day today. Continued to add lining and clean/vacuum the place. Bought blinds from Home Depot and installed them on the windows. Measured how big the rooms were so we could see what would fit where. Also, fixed the locks on the doors. Began work on installing tiles on the living room floor. Geez, I'm tired.
My mom whispered to me that my dad is extremely depressed. Earlier today, he told her that he might just leave and give up everything. I tried to stay cheerful throughout the day because of that. I whistled and I laughed as I worked on stuff, hoping that would cheer up my dad a little. My dad told me how he thought everything was pointless. "We lose everything anyway in the end, what's the point?" I replied in a whisper to myself..."We just have to do the best with what's given to us."
