Ai Sp@ce Adventure
Sep. 3rd, 2009 12:57 amAh, what a night. x_X I had a fairly long adventure on a Japanese online game. I guess the term for a game like that would be MMOSG (massively multiplayer online social game). It all started when I was -supposed- to study Japanese... Instead of doing that though, I got into the topic of Japanese game translations. Soon after, I learned about "Ai Sp@ce" (Yes, Ai Sp@ce is a pun on myspace. It even has a function called Ai Tunes). This is also based on bishojo games.. and to tell the truth, I'm not a big fan of that genre. For some reason though, this looked interesting to me.
Ai Sp@ce is basically a complex 3D chat program, where you can customize your avatar with different clothes and outfits from the money you get in the game. It's not unlike Gaia Online. The thing is that in this game, you get your own chara-doll based off one of the three bishojo games this is based off of (Shuffle, Clannad, DC II). The chara doll is a companion who follows you around whom you can customize with different actions/clothes/etc.
I found a thread in Crunchyroll that helps guide the whole process of downloading the game and signing up... The game is free to play and explore. All you need is a NicoNico account.

Ok. I did that, made my character, and a couple of random-clicking-on-buttons later, I was in Akihibara inside the game. That's my character there, "GreyFeather." It's funny... almost everything is in Japanese, and I'm the only one with a romanized name.

Ok, I'll post the rest under a cut.
( Sorry for the heavy bandwith usage. I'm posting a lot of pictures.. )
